Autumn hair trends we’re loving at do…
There’s something about autumn that makes you want to change your hair. Maybe it’s putting the summer clothes away, or maybe it’s just that first morning when you actually need a coat. Either way, it’s a lovely time for a refresh.
This year, I’m drawn to hair that looks good in real life: rich colour, plenty of shine and cuts that still work when you haven’t spent half an hour styling them. Here are a few ideas we’re loving at do… in Ryde.
For the ladies: softer shapes
The bob is still going strong, but I particularly like it with a bit of movement. It can sit around the jaw or grow towards the collarbone, with the shape tailored to your hair rather than cut to look exactly like a photograph.
If you’re keeping your length, soft layers around the face can make a surprising difference. They give longer hair some shape without leaving you wondering where all your hair has gone. A fringe can work beautifully too, whether that’s a full fringe or something softer you can sweep to the side.
Autumn colour: warmth and shine
Chocolate and chestnut brunettes look wonderful at this time of year. Adding a little depth or dimension can bring a colour back to life, especially if it’s feeling a bit faded after summer.
For blondes, I’m loving softer honey, beige and caramel tones. You can still feel blonde without going quite so bright. Copper is another autumn favourite, from a gentle copper-brown to something much richer. We’ll always talk through what suits your skin tone, your hair and how often you want to maintain it.

I’d always rather get the colour right for you than follow a trend for the sake of it.
For the men: texture without the fuss
For men, I’m liking cuts with a little more natural texture on top. A textured crop is easy to wear, while a softer taper keeps the sides tidy without looking too severe. If your hair has some wave or curl, we can work with it and leave enough length for it to do its thing.
The best cut is one you can manage yourself the next morning. Tell us how much time you actually spend on your hair, and we’ll take it from there.

Autumn weather can be a bit of a test for your hair, especially once the heating goes on. The right care depends on what your hair needs.
